What is Sports & Remedial Massage?
Sports & Remedial Massage has probably been in use since the origins of mankind. It remained the principle method
of treating most musculoskeletal problems for many thousands of years, and it was only in the last hundred years or so
that this practice began to change
Sports & Remedial Massage combines traditional deep massage strokes with applied stretching and soft tissue
manipulation
How does it work?
A deep tissue massage has the primary purpose of helping to alleviate the stress and tension which builds up within
soft tissues (muscles, connective tissue, tendons and ligaments) during physical activity and repetitive movements
The Treatment
Before treatment starts I will take a detailed medical history and carry out an assessment of your of your needs. Treatment involves manipulation of the soft tissues to release the tension in them and improve blood flow, which helps with the healing process.
Depending on the area treated, you will be asked to remove your clothing down to underwear but will be covered with towels at all times with only the treated area being exposed
